The Edinburgh Marathon offers one of the flattest, fastest and most beautiful marathon routes in Scotland.
When: 27 May 2018
Registration fee: Full marathon £25, Half marathon £15
Fundraising target: Full marathon £500, Half marathon £300
The Edinburgh Marathon route is brand new for 2018 and covers some of the most beautiful sights of this iconic city. The route is one of the flattest and fastest when it comes to marathons, so it’s perfect for first time runners or those keen to hit a new PB.
The route starts at the heart of the city, meandering down the Royal Mile and taking in such landmarks as the Scottish National Gallery and Edinburgh Castle. The route then continues past the spectacular Arthur’s Seat and hits the beautiful coastline, where a rush of fresh sea air will give you a much needed boost. The remainder of the route follows the coast, and along the way you’ll pass the oldest golf course in the world and the impressive 18th century Gosford House.
