Volunteer for us

Beating Bowel Cancer has a wide variety of volunteering opportunities across the organisation. Whatever your background, interests, or time you have available, you'll find that volunteering with us is rewarding and challenging.

"If you are thinking about volunteering for Beating Bowel Cancer I would urge you to do it, it's not only rewarding but great fun" (Emma, Beating Bowel Cancer volunteer)

Different ways to get involved

Event Supporters

We are always looking for enthusiastic supporters to help cheer on our teams at events such as the London Marathon, the Great North Run and other events.  If you would like to get involved we can add your name to our volunteer supporters register and then contact you in time to attend an event local to you.  Contact Rebecca on 020 8973 0018 to register your interest.

Helping at our office

If you live locally to Teddington, you are welcome to come and help out, either for a few hours a week or on a time specific project.  The list of things our office volunteers get involved in is endless.  From sending out patient information booklets, making up fundraising packs, carrying out research projects, to admin and accountancy.  There is something for everyone.  Contact Jo on 020 8973 0007 to discuss your availability and how you can help.

Holding a Collection

If you would be willing to give up just 2 hours to hold a collection for us at a local sporting event, train station or shopping centre or if you are a member of a Rotary Club, Ladies Circle or tennis club and would like to organise a collection on our behalf please get in touch with Miriam on 020 8973 0002.

Join our Internship Scheme

Want to develop your skills or gain experience? Our internship scheme runs for three months at a time and offers graduates or those looking for a change of career the opportunity to work with experienced staff on projects and events.  For details of our Internship scheme, please email Jo

Join our Patient Voices Group

If you have been affected by bowel cancer join our Patient Voices group.  Patient Voices help the charity in lots of ways including raising awareness by talking to the media about their story, lobbying their MP or training to be one of our Health in the Workplace presenters.  Patient Voices may choose to provide support to other patients or to fundraise for us.
