Explore the Great Wall of China and surrounding countryside
You will never forget the first time you see the Great Wall of China. From the moment you take your first steps you will be mesmerized! Trekking for 7 days, this challenge has it all. Immerse yourself in its history, embrace a new and fascinating culture whilst exploring some of the most beautiful scenery in China.
You will need to be of average fitness to enjoy this trek. Be prepared for climbing up and down the steps on the Great Wall and long days hiking through rural farmlands and valleys.
The trek ends in the fascinating city of Beijing, where you can spend a free day exploring the tourist sites and taking in the vibe of the capital of China.
Costs and sponsorship
This is an Open Challenge which means it is open to anyone. People fundraising for other charities will be on the trek. There are several trip dates available to suit you.
Registration fee: £349
Minimum Sponsorship pledge: £3100
Your registration fee is payable to the tour operator when you sign up. The minimum sponsorship should be paid to Beating Bowel Cancer. 80% of your target is due no later than 8 weeks before you depart. The remaining 20% should arrive with us no later than 1 month after you return.
What's included?
The trip includes the following:
- Experienced group leaders and support staff to manage the event safely and enjoyably including a fully qualified doctor
- Return flights to the UK
- All accomodation on the trip
- Most meals
- Entrance to the Forbidden City
- Local support crew including cooks, porters and drivers
The trip does not include the following:
- Personal travel insurance
- Airline fuel suplement (if necessary)
- Entry visa
- Two meals as specified in the itinerary
- Personal spending money
