The welfare of bowel cancer patients is at the core of all our work. Being diagnosed with bowel cancer comes as a terrible shock for most people. We provide information and support to patients, and their family and friends, at what is often a difficult and emotional time for all involved.
Patient-focused services that we offer include:
- Patient information booklets – we publish a range of booklets and leaflets on all aspects of bowel cancer, giving patients the most up-to date information on the disease and its treatment
- Our website – this is a comprehensive source of information for patients, and often the first point of call
- National patient-to- patient support group – through our Patient Voices Group, we are able to ‘match’ patients up with other patients who have had similar experiences or are of a similar age, allowing them to talk to each other on the telephone or even to meet up if they live close by. Email Suzie Scaddan for more information.
- Telephone support: Specialist Nurse Advisory Line – we provide medical advice to patients through our specialist nurser advisor line, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. All queries will be responded to within one hour. Telephone: 020 8892 1331
- Email support – patients can email us at info@beatingbowelcancer.org and our specialist nurse will reply within 3 days
