ShareGift

Do you own shares which you can't sell because it would cost more than they are worth? If so you can donate them to ShareGift - and you may be able to help support our vital work in the process.

ShareGift (Registered Charity Number 1052686) provides a solution to the problem of unwanted small shareholdings. Even if you have only one or two shares they can help you dispose of them and charitably. They can also help with larger donations of shares.

ShareGift accepts donations of shares, re-registers them into their name, and collects them into holdings that are large enough to sell. They then give the proceeds to a range of UK registered charities. In recent years Beating Bowel Cancer has received several thousand pounds from ShareGift to help us in our vital work.

If you are a UK taxpayer you can claim income tax relief on the value of the shares you donate to charity. In addition, donating shares to charity gives rise to neither a gain nor a loss for Capital Gains Tax purposes.

If you have shares that you would like to donate please complete the donation form and send with your share certificate(s) to ShareGift, who will send you the relevant transfer form to sign and return to them.

When donating your shares, please remember to mention that you are a supporter of Beating Bowel Cancer. ShareGift uses this information when choosing charities to support.
