Parliamentary Buddy
Interested in becoming a Parliamentary Buddy?
This month, we are launching a new Parliamentary Buddy programme, which will help us raise bowel cancer issues with MPs and ensure that the patient’s voice is heard at the very top of the political agenda. As a Parliamentary Buddy you will use your passion and understanding of bowel cancer to represent Beating Bowel Cancer when meeting politicians and engaging with local media.

We have produced a simple Parliamentary Buddy toolkit to enable you to speak to politicians and policy makers on issues that will make a real difference to the treatment of bowel cancer and the lives of those affected by it.
We want the parliamentary buddy programme to provide a forum where you can speak to your MP about issues, but where they can also come to you if they have any questions about bowel cancer services in your area and would like to hear the patient perspective.
It is really important that MPs are aware of bowel cancer issues and your experiences, as MPs are able to influence national policy and campaign for change to the NHS services locally.
