Plan a golf day

Location: your own golf club or public golf course.

Invite: Members, friends, family and local businesses.

Format: most golf clubs will offer packages of breakfast, 18 holes and lunch, so it is best to chat to them about the different packages that they provide.

How to raise money: find out how much the club charges for a green fee and ensure you charge extra on top to make a profit. You could also hold various competitions such as nearest the pin, longest drive and putting, as well as getting a company to sponsor a hole, to make some extra money.

Promote your event: in the local paper, at the golf club and on the radio.

Catering: the golf club are likely to have their own caterers so talk to them about a reduced fee.

Case study: Danny organised a golf Pro-am day at his local golf club in Sussex. He recruited teams from local companies as well as obtaining sponsorship to cover some of the costs. He also held a raffle and overall the event raised £11,000.
