Partnership success stories

We are grateful to all the organisations that provide us with much-needed funding for projects, campaigns and activities. Read on for examples of some our successful partnerships.

Ethicon Endo-Surgery

We have been generously supported by Ethicon Endo-Surgery (EES), a division of Johnson & Johnson, for the past four years. EES originally provided us with an educational grant to develop and print a new booklet Bowel Cancer Surgery: Your Operation, to add to our comprehensive range of publications.

We were then delighted to partner with them for a 3 year awareness campaign, which included the recent Tackle it! campaign  to raise awareness of bowel cancer specifically amongst men aged 30 to 60 years, and encourage them to visit their GP. We continue to work with EES and are looking forward to developing new joint initiatives in 2010.

Tenpin

We have now held two fantastic bowling events in collaboration with Tenpin, the biggest chain of bowling centres in the UK. We proposed a fun and novel idea for a charity bowling night and Tenpin were keen to support a cause that could affect so many of their customers. The event not only drove customers and sales for Tenpin, but raised substantial funds for Beating Bowel Cancer. We look forward to a further event  in 2010.

Roche Products

Roche Products most recently provided us with an educational grant to carry out a pilot and localised rollout of our Don’t Hide Your Symptoms Behind Closed Doors campaign, providing information about bowel cancer to pharmacies. This allowed us to reach the general public with important symptoms messages, whilst also educating pharmacists further about the disease and providing them with guidance on when to refer customers to their GP. We also partnered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to develop bespoke materials for pharmacy staff.
