Collaboration with other organisations
We are committed to improving outcomes for bowel cancer patients, and whilst we have a full and exciting schedule of activities that we carry out ourselves, we are members of many influential committees and groups who are working in our field.
For example, we are part of the Cancer Campaigning Group, a group of 28 cancer charities working together to ensure that the new Cancer Reform Strategy meets all its promises and performs well for bowel cancer patients.
We work closely with the Department of Health and, since the recent publication of the Cancer Reform Strategy, we have been invited to join a number of new steering groups to help shape the future of bowel cancer services. We were also a key contributor to the Department of Health Bowel Cancer Communications Group, which focused particularly on bowel cancer screening and the roll out of this programme across England.
Our Patient Voices group members have contributed to NICE and SMC appraisals, providing the patient perspective on the value of bowel cancer treatments.
